He developed an interest in claims of paranormal powers and has written about the tricks of psychics and others who fraudulently claimed to have powers. Korem is a theist and states that he embraces the Christian faith.〔Richard Wiseman. (2011). ''Paranormality: Why We See What Isn't There''. Pan Macmillan. pp. 84-86. ISBN 978-0-230-75298-6〕〔("Powers: Testing the Psychic & Supernatural" ). International Focus Press.〕 He became involved in criminal investigations at the request of law enforcement agencies who were investigating scams by those who fraudulently claimed to have powers. In 1981, he was asked to investigate an alleged psychic who was forming a cult-like group in Salt Lake City, Utah and led to Korem producing his first documentary, "Psychic Confession." The subject of the 1983 documentary was James Hydrick who was molested as a child and is presently incarcerated for child molestation.〔Matt Fountain and Patrick S. Pemberton, "Ex-TV 'psychic' convicted of sex offenses to stay hospitalized,' sanluisobispo.com, April 28, 2014〕 Hydrick explained how he deceived people with demonstrations that appeared to be powers and his motivation to deceive.〔(YouTube ), ''Psychic Confessions (James Hydrick)'', hosted by Danny Korem (1982)〕 After the U.S. broadcast, the United States Department of Health and Human Services used the documentary as a training tool on the effects of child abuse.〔1983 letter from United States Department of Health and Human Services.〕 Korem continued to investigate others who fraudulently claimed to have powers thru 1992 and found connections to how various groups formed, such as cults and gangs. Motivated by the 1992 drive-by shooting at a local high school in a Dallas suburb near his home, Korem went to eleven countries over seven years and investigated the new suburban, small-town gang trend that affected statistically safe communities.〔"The Un-Banging of Middle America," Todd Pitock, Miller-McCune, September–October 2009〕〔Nicole Fuller and Nick Madigan, "Gangs flourish in suburbs," Baltimore Sun, June 21, 2009〕〔Suburban Gangs - The Affluent Rebels, Dan Korem, (IFP: Richarson, 1995),.〕 When in Hungary, Korem was introduced to the research of Maria Kopp, Ph.D. on protective factors to mitigate risk of suicide and gang recruitment. This led Korem to develop the "Missing Protector Strategy," which was published along with Koop's research in ''Suburban Gangs - The Affluent Rebels''. Korem became a consultant on gang prevention and risk mitigation and The Missing Protector Strategy was applied in North American Schools, several with significant success.〔"The Un-Banging of Middle America."〕〔Maria Kopp, Ph.D. and Arpad Skrabski, "The Hungarian Mind, (Budapest: Vegeken Alapitvany, 1992).〕〔Simon Crouch, "Protector program working well, expansion coming," Chatham Daily News, August 22, 2001〕〔Heather Hamilton, "The Power of an Hour," Gazette (Royal Canadian Mounted Police), Vol. 65, No. 2, 2003.〕 In the early 1990s, at the request of presidents of companies who were members of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), Korem developed the Korem Profiling System® for negotiations in foreign countries to avoid racial, ethnic, and cultural stereotyping when making on-the-spot behavioral reads.〔"The Art of Profiling, Expanded 2nd edition, Dan Korem, (IFP:Richardson), 2012〕 He published several notable books on behavioral profiling for use by behavioral and non-behavioral science professionals as well as laypeople. The system was designed to allow individuals to develop the ability to behaviorally profile without stereotyping in spontaneous environments. Applications for the system include: negotiations, preventing domestic violence on military bases,〔Cpt. Victor Johnson, Chandra Brown, LMSW, "Applying the Korem Profiling System to Domestic Violence," The United States Army Medical Department Journal, Oct-Dec 2014.〕 educating students and improving classroom instruction,〔Karen Michael, Cooper students get lesson in 'art of profiling', Lubbock-Avalanche Journal, April 26, 2015.〕 coaching athletes, violence prevention, and other applications where human interaction is an important factor. Mid-1990s to present Korem continues to research practical behavioral profiling applications for professionals and laypeople with special emphasis in the last few years on teaching teens and young adults how to use the skillset.〔"Snapshot - Reading and Treating People Right the First Time," Dan Korem, (IFP:Richardson, 2015)〕 He is the president of Korem & Associates which provides consultancy and training on related issues. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Dan Korem」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
